|About History Value Using the VHA||
History of VHAInterviews were collected for the archive from 1995 to 2005. Access to the Shoah Foundation Institute archive was first offered to academic institutions in 2004, when the Mellon Foundation funded a pilot project to offer the archive on the campuses of Yale University and Rice University as well as at USC. The pilot project expanded in 2006, which is also when the Foundation moved to USC's College of Letters, Arts and Sciences; the archive is now available at additional universities, including UNC-Chapel Hill, Duke University and NC State University, through a $15,000 yearly commitment from RENCI. The intent of the expanded pilot project is to gradually increase access to the archive and make sure the system is scalable before offering it to all institutions that are connected to Internet2 or other high-speed research networks.
